    • The "picture frame" project should now be completed on students portfolio pages - use today's period to make sure it's perfect!
    • Your final summative project will be the Treasure Box - read the linked outline and continue Research and Planning - plan for stock that is 5/8" thick
    • Your completed plans for the Treasure Box will be due at the end of this week
  • Tuesday - Mr May is away again today
    • Complete your plans for a treasure box using stock dressed as 5/8" x 4" x 24"
    • Remember you can consult the work of former students in the gallery - do any of them look appealling? Read their conclusions too!
    • Publish you plans on your website so I can see them

    • Review the work of your classmates - how many of them have their plans up on their portfolios? Who's work looks competent?
      Complete your portfolio work so that you are ready for production when Mr May returns

    • FRAME PROJECT
      • Check your plans with another student - be sure that they are clear, complete, and ready to be marked!
      • Complete STAND plans - they won't be marked, but are needed to complete the project
      • Post all RESEARCH and PLANNING materials to your portfolio THIS PERIOD - your website will be marked at the end of THIS period!

      • Begin research and practice planning your TREASURE BOX project if all of the above is complete!

    • Frame Production- CHECK THE MACHINES before any cut - Know the INSIDE and BACK of the frame
      • Ripping - KNOW your dimensions - MARK the initial cut - HAVE HELP to receive and guide the stock - Use the PUSHSTICK
      • Router - 1/4" x 3/8" is the initial cut on the INSIDE and BACK
      • Mitre
        • DO NOT CUT any 45's until you are done all routering!
        • BEVEL on the OUTSIDE FRONT - RABBET on the INSIDE BACK
      • Stands can be designed while you await your turn on the other tools
